ABSTRACT

This research aims to know the morphometry of rotifers taken from differentlocations in North Sulawesi Water. Plankton sampling was done in six area, three locations were chosen to represent coastal waters which are opened to Sulawesi Sea (Likupang, Tumpaan, Meras), and three other locations which are opened to Molluccas Sea (Minanga, Watuliney, Manembo-nembo). Samples of rotifers were collected by pankton net. Samples were then preserved using of formaldehyde solution and for further identification and measurements. Measurement of rotifers morphometry was done on the lorica length, lorica width, anterior width and total length. Based on the measurement, it is found that rotifers have a lorica length (140 μm-220 μm) or S type. The size of rotifers from Watuliney Water is relatively bigger than rotifers from Meras Water.
